    Bordeaux Wine Certificate

    The Bordeaux Wine Certificate is a four-week long course accredited by L’École du Vin of Bordeaux, the official educational branch of the Interprofessional Bureau of Bordeaux Wines.

    Upon successful completion of the course, candidates receive a Bordeaux Wine Certificate from L’École du Vin.

        The French Wine Scholar (FWS) program is a study and certification program providing current, accurate and in-depth information on the wines and wine regions of France.

        Developed and administrated by the Wine Scholar Guild with the support of the French Ministry of Agriculture, this program is aimed at advanced students of wine whether professionals or serious wine hobbyists.

        Individuals who successfully pass the exam will earn French Wine Scholar (FWS) certification which may be incorporated into a professional signature (eg, John Smith, FWS).

        French Wine Scholar (FWS)

        Become proficient in the wines of France. Developed by the Wine Scholar Guild with the support of the French Ministry of Agriculture, this 9-week course is aimed at advanced students of wine  — whether professionals or serious wine hobbyists  — and covers French wine law, grape varieties, viticulture, winemaking and all of the French wine regions including Jura, Savoie and Corsica.

        Program includes:

        • 22 hours of classroom instruction with extensive tutored tasting
        • 280 full page full color French Wine Scholar study manual
        • One year access to the French Wine Online Study Program
        • Registration for the French Wine Scholar Exam

        Individuals who successfully pass the exam will earn French Wine Scholar (FWS) certification which may be incorporated into a professional signature (eg, John Smith, FWS).

        SWE Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW)

        $550 | Self-study + 2-day intensive review

        The advanced level Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) is largely a self-study educational program culminating in a rigorous exam that tests a candidate’s wine knowledge and mastery of key elements within the worlds of viticulture and wine production.

        The CSW Study Guide will be available in May. In August, a final on-site review course will be offered over two days, including 9 hours of content review and reinforced learning through tutored tastings.

        At the end of the second day, candidates will be given one hour to complete the CSW Exam, which consists of 100 multiple choice questions derived from the CSW Study Guide.
