• Baking & Pastry Arts

    If you’re seeking the global gold standard in baking and pastry arts education, then the Baking & Pastry Arts bachelor’s degree program at our Providence Campus is the place for you. Broaden and deepen your exposure to a wide range of experiences in the pastry world, and learn in intimate lab settings under faculty who are recognized masters on the global stage, and who often take top prizes at international baking and pastry competitions.

    You’ll work from two textbooks written by JWU faculty, and use the most advanced baking technologies, equipment, utensils and techniques to create your own pastry showpieces (artisan breads and decorative bread showpieces, wedding cakes, chocolate and sugar showpieces and world-class plated desserts) — while accelerating your career path in this ever-expanding industry.

    You’ll also participate in an advanced domestic or international internship, where you’ll work alongside some of the most prestigious names in the business. Sites include Alain Ducasse’s famed pastry school in a chateau in Southern France.

    With exposure to every skill, technique and technology in the industry, you’ll be ready to connect with some of the world’s best hotels, clubs and resorts, high-volume production bakeries, independent bakeries, restaurants, contract bakeries and wholesale pastry shops.
